There is a difference between Conservation and Restoration
All too often a classic survivor is destined for a full restoration. It’s become a standard in the classic car market so an enthusiast is led to believe that there are only two alternatives, find a classic in good original condition or restore one that needs work.
We started Kombi Nomad because we wanted to offer an alternative. We call this Kombi Conservation, where a “barn find” is “repaired” to a condition where the character of that particular Kombi is kept. Resulting in a look and feel that comes across as if she has grown old gracefully.
This doesn’t mean that corners are cut or she is left with rusty patches. The same amount of work is required in “conserving” as a full restoration.
You will see from the work that has been done on our finished Kombi that we have been able to keep its character.
